As a 17 year old reflecting in quarantine I was inspired and focused on the topic of environmental justice. As someone who is not the most familiar with this issue I decided to push myself out of my artistic and personal boundaries to learn more about myself and the world around me. This film captures the essence of healing the world we live in everyday. And how we can make an impact as individuals with the time we are given right now to affect our lives and the places we call “home” in the future. Through personal letters and story telling of the people closest to me we wrote to our future selves and how we think our island will be affected within the next decade. Produced during the 2020 Environmental Justice Reel Camp for Girls organized by Hawai’i Women in Filmmmaking.
