Siblings Mimi and Luke unwittingly resurrect an ancient alien overlord. Using a magical amulet, they force the monster to obey their childish whims, and accidentally attract a rogues’ gallery of intergalactic assassins to small-town suburbia.
Director Steven Kostanski, who directed the cult features BIO-COP (2012) and THE VOID (2016) and is also an accomplished FX makeup artist (from STAR TREK DISCOVERY to SUICIDE SQUAD and IT), dips into his incredible creature effects skills. It is as if he that housed a warehouse full of innovative and old-school designs from the likes of Stan Winston and Screaming Mad George. Extra kudos goes to child actor Nita-Josse Hanna as kid sister Mimi, who has a mean streak that Stewie from FAMILY GUY would bow down to. Her mean personality, coupled with a bloodthirsty alien that is forced to be her slave, and you have a tag-team from hell.
If this film was a power-smoothie, then the '80s B-movie inspired ingredients would be a dash of MONSTER SQUAD, a hint of GUYVER and a whole bunch of Gwar. Put them into a blender and "voila!--The ultimate creatine (and lots of blood) smoothie PSYCHO GOREMAN!
